There is no job out there like being an MSU Denver Orientation Leader. The experience of being an Orientation Leader exposes you to endless skills and opportunities, opens up doors to new experiences, and fosters meaningful relationships. The members of the “O-Team” love their jobs, and here’s why.
A place to belong
The
O-Team is a big working family. Never in my life have I had the opportunity to
spend time with such an amazing and close-knit group of people. My coworkers
are also my best friends; we spend time together both at work and outside of it
and it has been some of the best times of my life. The Orientation team is made
up of diverse individuals with unique skills and strengths and we always work
together to make sure each person’s strengths are maximized and they have a
valued role. If you’re looking for a workplace and an organization that will
make you feel like you are valued, like you belong, and like you are truly
growing for the better, New Student Orientation is for you.
You get the chance to truly change
lives.
Fun
It’s
an orientation leader’s job to instill spirit and school pride in new students,
help them feel welcome and comfortable at MSU Denver, and cultivate connections
with other Roadrunners. How do we do that? Often through games, team builders,
trivia, ice breakers, cheers, singing and dancing, of course! If there’s one
thing OLs are known for, it’s their tendencies to always be dancing, singing,
and playing games. A job with NSO is guaranteed to be action packed and full of
positive energy.
You learn to love the campus and the school (all over again)
Take
it from someone who experienced it firsthand; if you think you could never be a
leader, you’re probably wrong! NSO is the place I learned that leaders come in
every shape and size, they are both outspoken and shy, introverts, extroverts,
and come from every background. I found my own personal leadership style and philosophy
through my experiences at NSO. You can fulfill your leadership goals, learn
about yourself, and develop your personal leader skills as a member of the
O-Team. As you learn, you have a team of supportive coworkers and supervisors
with you the whole way.
